How to get to the Centre-du-Quebec region

By car

The region is accessible via main highways 20 and 55. Secondary highways 116 and 132 cross the Centre-du-Quebec and Eastern Townships regions leading to the Chaudière-Appalaches.

By train

There are an average of five trains per day headed for Montreal and Quebec City.

By bicycle

The region boasts a vast network of very accessible cycling trails and road circuits. The well-known bike trail identified as Route Verte no. 4 (which starts in the Eastern Townships and ends in the Mauricie region) winds through the Centre-du Québec region. Cycling enthusiasts can also leave from downtown Quebec City and follow the old railway bed to travel through the entire Centre-du-Québec region on Route Verte no. 1 (the Parc linéaire des Bois-Francs). • Prices advertised in Quebec usually exclude taxes. When you go to pay, the following taxes will be added: the GST (5% of the sales price) and the QST (7.5% of the sales price plus the GST). Foreign visitors can submit a GST reimbursement claim on most goods and accommodation expenses. 
• Tips are rarely included on bills in Quebec. The commonly used calculation for tipping is 15% of the amount of the bill before taxes.
