Description
Stemming from the Festival des Harmonies du Québec and overseen by the Fédération des harmonies et orchestres symphoniques du Québec, the FHOSQ Soloists and Small Ensembles Competition has been held at Victoriaville's Le Boisé high school since 2001. Welcoming more than 1,000 young musicians from all regions of Quebec each year, participants have the opportunity to perform as soloists, chamber musicians, combos, vocal ensembles or guitarists. Numerous cash or music camp scholarships are awarded each year to the winners in each category.
With learning and pedagogy at the heart of its priorities, the Soloists Competition also offers a multitude of development opportunities for participants: recitals, master classes, jam sessions, virtual mentoring, and more. Over the years, partnerships with important and influential players in the music world have enabled us to develop a rich and varied event.
